In the previous article on binary options I only touched on the general questions of how to promote any binary project — be it a strategy-selling site, an affiliate site, or even some SaaS service in this niche. In this case study I'll focus exclusively on affiliate sites and the technical side of things.
The SEOquick team offers a comprehensive SEO approach that works even for projects sitting in the top three of the SERPs for competitive queries but not generating the expected revenue. The cause of low conversion is often hidden, so the first step is a detailed audit that identifies the barriers to growth.
Next, we examine each of the bottlenecks found in detail and build an improvement plan.

What does your competitor have that you don't yet? That's right — traffic. SEOquick to the rescue!
We'll bring a wave of traffic to your site through SEO.
We'll do it using strictly white-hat methods, with no filters or penalties from Google.
We'll run a deep optimization: strengthen the content, build links and reputation. And it will all work out!
This case study is our flagship project, one we worked on for many years. And we took it to the proper level. For a number of reasons I'll be showing screenshots from other projects that we built ourselves in parallel.
Binary options as a business
Binary options are a niche with "high margins, high risk and harsh regulation". It attracts an audience with the promise of quick income, but at the same time it scares off ordinary investors, regulators and ad platforms. For an SEO strategy this means two key things:
- There's money in the topic — demand and turnover are growing steadily. According to a Business Insider study, the niche's turnover for 2024 ranged from $870 million to $2.3 billion (Source).
- The barrier to entry is extremely high — licensing, legal risks, no paid traffic in Google Ads, the need for strong E-E-A-T content and quality link building. I wrote about this in the previous article.
Clients who come into this niche need to understand the following:
- Your project's profitability won't always be 100%.
- You don't get earnings results right away.
- There are risks in SEO promotion due to blocks.
- If you do many things unprofessionally, you risk getting gigantic fines.
But the income in the niche outweighs the investment — if you invest enough into the promotion.
How does the earning system work?
The biggest share of earnings in this niche comes from affiliate traffic. A network of affiliate links multiplied by a huge world gives you a fairly high probability of generating income. Many binary options brokers offer rather generous bonuses for user deposits.
Here's an example of a referral (or affiliate) link for a site. Your job is to get the user to click the link and register on the platform.
If one user deposits $10,000 on the exchange — you're guaranteed to get $5,000! And your goal is to expand the geography and the number of people who register on the exchanges through your links.
Keep in mind — only 26% of accounts stay in the green (data from Japan, where brokers are required to publish profit/loss statistics).
Choosing binary options brokers to earn from
How do you choose the brokers worth earning from? The choice of broker for promoting affiliate links in the binary options niche determines the success of the campaign. The broker's reputation, the terms of the affiliate program and geographic availability decide whether users will click the links and bring in revenue.
It's important to keep the 2026 regulatory backdrop in mind: binary options for retail clients are banned in the EU (the ESMA ban from 2018, made permanent by national regulators in 2019–2021) and in the UK (a permanent FCA ban), and from 1 April 2026 updated ESMA and FCA product intervention measures on CFDs and binary options take effect. That's why almost all working brokers in the niche target Asia, Africa and Latin America rather than Western markets.
A reliable broker increases conversion and retains the audience. The main selection criteria:
- Reputation and licenses. Brokers with licenses from CySEC, FCA or ASIC inspire more trust among traders. Reviews on independent platforms such as Traders Union or Brokers.best show real user experience.
- Affiliate program terms. Programs with a CPA model (payment per registration or deposit, up to $500 per client) or RevShare (a percentage of the broker's revenue) are the most profitable. Transparent analytics in the personal dashboard is a must.
- Trading conditions. Platforms with a low minimum deposit ($10–50), demo accounts and a wide range of assets attract beginners, which boosts conversion.
- Payment systems. Support for local payment methods (cards, wallets, crypto) is important for the target regions.
- Localization. An interface and support in the audience's language improve user experience and retention.
So you can confidently take a list of brokers, register in their affiliate programs and create your own links.

A development plan for a binary options site
First you need to do competitor analysis. Gather the TOP sites in each GEO and analyze the traffic of each one.
For example, here's a compiled list of sites in the RU segment (Ukrainian content in this niche is mostly weak).
Semantic core
After detailed competitor analysis we build an expanded semantic core for each language version. We group the keywords by content type right away to simplify clustering and eliminate query overlaps:
- binary options broker reviews for commercial traffic;
- a trader's glossary — a base of informational queries at the top of the funnel;
- trading strategies that demonstrate expertise and retain the user;
- currency rate pages with many pairs and their combinations;
- a list of tools and indicators that captures long-tail traffic.
This structuring increases relevance, eases content planning and speeds up promotion in each chosen country.
Metadata optimization
You won't believe it, but to work with one crypto project we had to build our own site audit tool. Yes, the very one you're looking at now — at this link.
Its first version is still known to you as the SEOquick site audit — and more than 1,000 users use it every month.
Your main task is to write the metadata for the page clearly so that it meets the following criteria:
- The Title should be 35-61 characters and contain the main keyword, but not repeat the H1 word for word.
- The Description should act as a teaser for the page, but not tell word for word what's written in it.
- The H1 must strictly contain the high-frequency keyword and never be repeated on other pages.
Given the scale of the work, you often have to edit and check a huge number of metadata entries in a day. That's why our own calculation method was built taking into account research by Neil Patel and Brian Dean, as well as our own CTR analysis from search.
Yes, numbers, ratings and special words are a must-have to keep in mind.
Multilingual sites
The main geography of such sites is the US, Sri Lanka, India, Germany, Nigeria, Pakistan and Singapore. Russia, Ukraine and other CIS countries take up far less space — and it's harder to get traffic from them today due to competition. Meanwhile, in the multilingual space many SEO specialists in our niche have little experience — and the reason lies in an incorrect approach.
To remove barriers and guarantee steady traffic growth from each target country, we start with proper architecture:
- For language versions we use subdirectories / subdomains of a single domain.
- We set hreflang attributes with x-default and define canonicals to eliminate duplicates.
- Each version is connected to the same sitemap, but in a separate XML file and with a clear language binding in xhtml:link.
And most importantly — use hreflang + x-default so that AIO correctly matches the language version to the query. It's very easy to make a mistake here and lose traffic.
The number of languages is limited only by your budget and your adaptation resources. The maximum I've come across is 34 languages. Of those, 10-15 were successful.
As for translation. We localize the content rather than machine-translate it: we adapt keywords, currency, calls to action and legal wording to the expectations of local regulators. Many people mistakenly trust ChatGPT with the translation here, but we advise taking on a specialist for each GEO who knows the niche, the local language and, of course, English, so you can hold a dialogue with them. Their job is to check the content, edit it and, if needed, write it from scratch.
On the technical side there are a number of tips too:
- We minimize server latency through a CDN with nodes in the region, monitoring Core Web Vitals and compressing resources.
- For trust signals we implement structured data with language-code, ratings, FAQ and a local support contact.
- In robots.txt we exclude test and archive folders of each language zone so the bot doesn't waste crawl budget.
Finally, we set up separate projects in analytics and Search Console: this makes it easier to track query cannibalization and understand which market is growing faster than the rest.
As for the referral part — a broker might not work in a specific region, so you can create a special block that displays when the broker is available (and is hidden when it's unavailable, for example).
This is done using an IP database.
Don't forget, your site must also read properly in Arabic — the layout in Arabic needs to be drawn separately. Many people stumble at this stage, but on our project the Arabic pages collected far more traffic. This is possible due to low competition on a number of queries and a lack of content. So in this niche you can scrape it and claim it while there's still time.
Create referral links
The foundation of your earnings is the referral links you create in your accounts' personal dashboards.
But many people make mistakes here too, so before working with clients I analyzed many competitors and noticed that everyone creates a unique link for nearly every button on the site!
So, how do you create many links to the same broker? Easy! Using the Pocket Option dashboard as an example — go to the Affiliate links section and create your link.
Create not one but many links — a separate one for each banner you run. You have to track effectiveness. You can have at least 40 affiliate links per broker — some on YouTube, some on TikTok, and some for each banner on your own site.
Creating a single link is a mistake.
How do you then place the links on the site?
A special link is created in the form /<unique path>/<unique identifier>; for example, here's what a link on one of the sites looks like:
This link actually returns a 302 response and leads to the broker's affiliate link (I highlighted the tail of the link in the black box below). On click, a Cookie is recorded and an unnoticeable 301 redirect to the registration link happens — and the user doesn't even see the affiliate link (though an experienced SEO sees it right away).
Such unique links are always blocked in robots and in the page code so that the search bot won't follow them under any circumstances.
For example, the link here is closed with a Sponsored, Nofollow tag.
Similarly, the entire intermediate path is blocked in Robots so that such pages don't even accidentally end up in the site's crawl. This needs to be set in advance at the site design stage.
To estimate the promotion for your project, you can book a consultation with me and we'll discuss the promotion strategy
AIO and GEO traffic
Previously no one paid attention to traffic from social networks, but for over a year now analytics has been recording traffic from GPT chats of various kinds: Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, DeepSeek and Perplexity, as well as Grok.
The algorithms of AIO tasks and chat assistants evaluate content not page by page but in fragments, turning your publications into the "building blocks" of answers. What matters more is no longer your position in the SERP but whether the AI cites you specifically: AI Overviews and ChatGPT show active links to sources and bring in already "warmed-up" visitors who trust the brand after seeing it in a citation.
How to prepare materials?
Open each topic with a direct, exhaustive answer in the first 1-2 sentences, then reveal the details; use one paragraph per subtopic so the fragment can be pulled out on its own.
- Structure the article around user questions ("how to choose…", "what is…") and break it into clusters, cross-linking related texts — this way the engine sees an expert network rather than a set of standalone posts. (Search Engine Journal).
- Insert numerical data, performance figures, checklists — generators love facts that can be quoted. Since this niche needs only fresh data, it will often turn to search.
Markup and data
Add Article, FAQ, HowTo, Q&A, Product schema + author/organization JSON-LD; this speeds up the recognition of semantic blocks. Generate an expanded sitemap with tags and, if needed, an "AI-sitemap" (a popular pattern: /ai-sitemap.xml) that lists only answer fragments.
Technical optimization of the site for GEO
In fact, the main part of optimization for GPT systems is following these principles:
- Your content must be available in HTML format.
- Metadata and H1 must be static and not generated on the user's side.
- We advise providing all images with ALT tags.
- The content on pages should have several hierarchically arranged H2 headings.
Neither ChatGPTBot nor PerplexityBot waits for the JS render. Check your content through our Get Source Code of Webpage tool, then study whether your target content is in the page's HTML code. This way you'll see whether GPT can even understand from the page code what kind of site this is.
Checking content with Get Source Code of Webpage
For ChatGPT bots you need to create special permissions; to do this, allow AI bots in robots.txt and add an llm(s).txt in the root of your site:
User-agent: $llm
Allow: /
Citation-Policy: allow-with-attribution
Training-Window: 90d
This way you control which sections are available for training and require a link when cited (LLM Logs).
And don't forget about speed — keep an eye on Core Web Vitals and a TTFB < 200 ms: if the bot "hangs", it will move on to the next candidate. Server response speed is what people neglect when building such sites: your project must load as fast as possible from any part of the world. So be sure to connect Cloudflare.
Trust and freshness signals
Show the expert: author bio, certificates, last-updated dates.
Re-check the facts every 90 days and make minimal edits — AI indexes freshness, not just the date.
Your author must be known to other sources, so whoever you work with, you need to promote them enough that they can be seen in a ChatGPT overview.
And don't forget, your author must exist beyond the bounds of your own platform. For example, they appear on more than 10 sites, which implies their real existence.
Don't forget that EEAT optimization of your speakers, authors and editors is the foundation. In my SEO Forge I explained how to adapt EEAT optimization for the binary niche.
You can also find authors via Udemy search and offer them a partnership, for example, look for smaller authors of trading courses and reach out to those who have good reviews.
Adapt the content for sales
Remember that a user who lands on your content from AI answers is quite likely to click one link or another. Don't forget about lead generation.
Of course, the proportional amount of AI traffic is still incomparable to organic — roughly speaking, AI traffic in the niche is around 0.008-0.5% compared to SEO traffic from Google.
But we advise setting up the site's pages so that every visit benefits you.
- Place CTAs, conversion elements and visible contacts right after the first answer paragraph — when a user arrives via a link from an AI Overview, they've already gotten the "intro" and are ready to act.
- Use interactive elements (profitability calculators, demo widgets): they motivate users to visit the site even on a zero-click from the answer block.
Also build functionality for alert signals when a rate hits certain figures, a trading calendar, so the user uses your tool for their activity with brokers — whether forex brokers, binary options, or simply spot trading.
Don't forget about pop-up windows. Links in them can work too, but only if the pop-up isn't done crudely. And if it's done with motivation (as in the case below — it shows the minimum deposit here), it can encourage the client to move on to one broker or another.
Also, on a binary brokers page, don't show forex brokers. These are different niches, and a mistake here can cost you a lost lead — an off-target offer and your visitor simply closes the banner.
Blog and informational content
In this niche users search for content almost endlessly. They turn to search, ask a multitude of questions and, of course, they want fresh and up-to-date content.
Even a small site can start getting targeted traffic and bringing in sales if you compile and execute a content plan in the form of articles.
There's a small checklist for how to create such content. We developed it over years of work:
- The topic is the main keyword.
- Subheadings are the additional questions that get addressed within this problem.
- Before you start writing a topic, you should ask Google and (now GPT) what users are interested in regarding this topic
- Cluster the questions by levels — we build a hierarchy of the material.
- The size of an article isn't measured in character count. The quality of the answer is what matters.
- Screenshots and proof for any fact are mandatory.
- Be sure to use up to 1 video in the article (if you need to show an instruction).
- Be ready to build complex constructions in the layout for the blog: for example, comparison tables, special elements (such as a Pros-Cons block) and styles for special lists.
Just writing text and publishing it is throwing money down the drain.
The articles in the top spots have genuinely complex elements you may have missed. And it's best to draw these styles at the design stage and implement them in your site's layout.
Here's an example of a comparison article in the Google top — for two brokers.
And here's an example of a roundup article for the keyword "Alternatives" (for example — Pocket Option alternatives).
Link building specifics for the binary niche
Using the example of a project we worked on, we'll show the links we placed. For obvious reasons (NDA) I can't show the clients' sites and their current metrics, but the screenshots that are in the case studies were approved.
The advantage of choosing links is the region. Try not to place links on sites where your geo audience isn't present. Filter the domains and make sure no skew occurs. To do this, build a convenient file where you can see how many links and in which geo you need to place monthly, periodically adding naturally created ones.
We have experience creating editorial links and manage to get placed even in major financial media. Over 3.5 years of experience in this niche we've managed to achieve impressive results.
In this topic it's very hard to single out one unique link building strategy. Since the niche is very specific and a little "grey", many kinds of strategies work that might not work in Local business and other areas. We went through the link strategies in detail in the previous material, in the section Link building for binary options sites.
Such publications are possible if you:
- cooperate with an author who's well-known in the niche;
- they can provide timely, relevant comments for the news;
- you can find sites via outreach that are ready to accept your press release and include your comment in the material;
- use tools for building press releases.
In the Western niche, without this it's impossible to build quality links that carry maximum trust today.
Links can also be built without manual effort. To do this we create linkable assets:
- position calculators;
- currency rate tools;
- trader diaries;
- an options profitability calculator;
- an interactive calendar of global economic events;
- a PDF report on the popularity of OTC instruments for the quarter.
The difficulty with linkable assets is developing them. It was precisely thanks to such projects that we had to assemble a whole layer of developers, designers and content creators who thought through and built such tools.
For example, on this resource the link leads to a narrowly targeted mid-frequency query, and such pages get links both naturally and, where you can help it along, artificially.

Results
In this niche, besides organic, social and direct traffic, you'll have far fewer sources than in others. Unlike classic white-hat niches, organic is far more valuable.
But I can't say that SEO alone delivers the lion's share of the result. Yes, it can bring in new clients, but you'll only get clicks and registrations once the audience starts to trust you.
Track the conversion of clicks to referral links, then track inside the referral links — who registers and how (we discussed this in the earlier steps), follow the FTDs (first-time deposits) and the subsequent deposits of your project's audience.
Remember, there's money in the niche, but many come in as beginners and it's important for them to find a good project, useful for trading. One with normal information, honest strategies, an honest take on a given broker. And they'll know you've built not just "a site on the internet" but a community the user will stick with.
YouTube channels thus accumulate an audience, pouring it from the site to the channel and back. Yes, the strategy SEOquick itself runs on works the same way in the niche.
Promoting such projects is a marathon. You won't achieve any results with a sprint. The first deposits came only after six months of work, the first traffic — almost after 9 months of work. But unlike other dubious niches (like buying Instagram followers) — here there's no risk of dropping out of search if you do everything right. And there is a risk if you simply keep making mistakes.
Are you planning to launch your own site in the binary options earning niche? Write to me, we'll discuss the languages and geography of promotion, and I'll put together a commercial proposal, a content plan and estimate the cost of the work.
